It is considered that Ithaca is a symbol of life and fate , due to the fact that the island is known like the homeland of Odyssey. Odysseus spent ten years traveling to Ithaca after the Trojan Wars. In modern-day Greece, the island stills enchants visitors who want to familiarize with the Greek culture and way of life. Like other Greek islands, Ithaca is known for its beaches, gorgeous scenery and relaxed way of life.The sights of Ithaca related to the Odysseus are the Aretusa spring, south of Vathi and the cave of the nymphs, which they call Marmaroppils. According to the myths, Odysseus has hidden the riches and gifts in the lands of the island. Another interesting fact is that here had been made sacrifices to the ancient gods . This are lands full of history and adventures and we guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed .

The price includes:
- Transport: Sofia – Cephalonia – Sofia and the places mentioned in the program (by bus and kayak)
- You can enjoy us at Lefkada or order a transfer from airport Sofia or Lefkada

- Accommodation: 2 or 3 overnights at the campsite and 4 or 3 overnight stays at bivouac (wild camping)

There are restaurants and shops through the route , so will be able to buy whatever you want . You will have the opportunity for a picnic on the beach, barbecue in the bivouac and fishing.

Days 1 and 2: Sofia – Lefkada – Cephalonia
Departure from Sofia at 23 o’clock from the parking in front of Vasil Levski stadium and arrival in Vasiliki (Lefkada) around 9 o’clock , where you will have time for a walk , coffee, shopping and preparation. Vasiliki is the paradise for the surfers, windsurfers from all over the world are coming because of the winds. From there we should the ferry for Friskardo (Cephalonia ). Friskardo is the only settlement survived after the sweeping earthquake during 1953. Now it is a tourist destination and romantic, magnetic place.
Afternoon we will be on the beach with the kayaks. Everyone should be instructed and equipped. We will put our luggage into the kayaks and set off along the coast . The coastline is full with many bays and beaches surrounded from forest. Not far away the divers can explore the relics of sunk years ago boats . This is one good reason to stop for a rest.
If the group want we can divert to island Ithaca and the village Palikata from where we can reach to Stavros which is considered as the birthplace of Odyssey, due to this fact there is a museum of the mystic island .
Our first bivouac is on incredible wild beach surrounded by olive trees. After we wake up on the next day , we will have breakfast and continue our trip to the east coast of Cephalonia which is more civilized. We will stop for a break and diving in several amazing beaches and tourist villages until we arrive to Sami. There we will stay at a camping which is on the coast and offers all kinds facilities like a swimming pool , taverns , kitchen ,bathroom and others. Pretty close there is a resort village which is full with restaurants and tourists. We will stay at this camp for two days.
3rdday :Sami – rest day
After we wake up we can go on a walking trip and visit the unique natural phenomena around like the cave with underwater lake – Melisani or the other ones – Dragorati and Koravomilos. The ones who want to visit everything in Cephalonia can rent a motorcycle , car or bicycle and get to sightseeing like the emblematic beach Mitros , the village Asos , “the red beach “ and others.
The night will be appropriate for a relaxing walk around Sami.
Day 4 : Cephalonia – Ithaca
After we leave the camping ,full with motivation and energy we will set off to the south coastline of Ithaca where surprises like ancient ruins and wild goats will late for us. The island offers divinely beautiful natural landscapes and wild vegetation. It has saved the the authenticity and the spirit of time and the atmosphere will take you in one forgotten world. After we surround the southern part, we will head north to the east coast. There you can see both sheer rocks and caves and beautiful green bays and long beaches. It is appropriate for diving into the crystal clear and turquoise- blue waters . There are several options for camping on this day , but the best one is a beach not far away from “The Spring of Aretusa”.
Day 5:Kioni
After we drink coffee and pack our luggage we will continue our trip to the north . Our final destination is the most incredible village on the island – Kioni . On our way there are some nice and big beaches, on one of which is located a tavern, where we can eat fresh seafood and drink cold beer. There is a legend according which if you drink from the water in Ithaca you will fall in love with the island and want to get back there . In the late afternoon we will make our camp to Kioni, and in the village we will enjoy nice food, landscapes and a warm bath.
Day 6 : Kioni – island Arcudi – Sivota
To avoid the afternoon winds we’ll start earlier than the usual this day. After breakfast we will set off to the Arcudi island. There we will spend time diving, having lunch and take some break. Our next stop is the large and beautiful bay of Sivota and the amazing village of Lefkada . In the evening, we will make the last of our expedition wild camp for an overnight stay.
Day 7 : Sivota – Meganisi
Initially, we will head to the Meganissi Island and several caves, the largest of which is Papanikoli. We will dock in the cave itself, where it is cool and enjoyable for diving, relaxation and lunch. In the evening we will stay in a well-appointed campsite, with a bath, all the amenities and a tavern with excellent food. You have the opportunity to make a camp on Meganisi Island and have a barbecue with freshly sown fish.
Day 8: Meganissi – Spartochori – Desimi – Porto Katsiki
This day is for relaxation and a unique beach.
After breakfast we will go to Meganissi and visit the authentic Spartochori village. From there you will see the great panorama of all the small islands in the area, including the island of Onassis – Scorpio. In the early afternoon we will return to Lefkada, then we will go to another of the unique Greek beaches – Porto Katsiki.
Day 9 : Departure to Sofia
